I do have an App called AUDIOBOOKS ...... This app offers free audio books (some books from radio broadcasts 1900-1910).
On my iPad where would I find an Audio book after purchasing an audiobook from iTunes?

It should be in the Music app - when you have audiobooks on the iPad that you've downloaded from iTunes directly on the iPad or synced from your computer's iTunes then you should get an Audiobooks option under the More button at the bottom of the Music app.
The 'Audiobooks' app won't contain audiobooks that you've bought from Apple.
Also note that audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store, so you may want to copy it to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11) so that you can take a backup copy of it - it should copy over to the Books part of your computer's iTunes library.
