Mar 11, 2013 8:47 AM in response to pat264by randers4,Because the albums don't contain actual photos. The actual photos are all in your camera roll. The albums only contain links to these photos. Photo stream will only upload the actual photos from camera roll, not any of your album structure on your phone.

Jan 23, 2014 3:09 PM in response to randers4by Frank1364,so i need to move / save "those" linked albums I want into my camera roll? Is there a process for that. ?

Jan 23, 2014 3:17 PM in response to Frank1364by randers4,The albums don't transfer because the don't contain any photos. The only contain links to photos in your camera roll. If you want to transfer your albums you’ll have to use an app like PhotoSync(http://www.photosync-app.com). This app will transfer photos to (and from) your PC, including your albums.

Sep 22, 2014 3:38 PM in response to lwhamiltonby randers4,It's gone, along with the My Photo Stream album. All your photos now appear in the Photos section; new photos (both camera roll and photo stream) appear in the Recently Added album. I don't like it either. You can share your feedback with Apple here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html.

Sep 22, 2014 4:21 PM in response to randers4by Star Traveler,There is something different about "Recent Additions" as compared to Photostream. With Photostream I could delete pictures out of it, and it would not affect the Camera Roll. In other words, the picture would still be in Camera Roll even though it was deleted from Photostream.
BUT ... if you delete something from Recent Additions, it is also deleted from "Photos" (the Photos tab at the bottom).

Right, because it's the same photo. It's not that Recently Added is photo stream and Photos are camera roll photos. Photos includes all your photos (I suspect it's just referencing the photos in Shared and Albums rather than containing duplicates). It's no longer possible to keep the photo stream copy and delete the camera roll copy. What I've seen is that when you take a photo on a device, the my photo stream photo that is generated no longer appears on it. The photo stream version only appears on other devices sharing your photo stream. (I imagine this was done to prevent having multiple copies of the same photo on your device.)
The Recently Added album contains recent photos taken or saved to your device (like the old camera roll), plus any my photos stream photos streamed from your other devices. (The only way to identify if a photo is a stream photo is to open it, tap the share icon and see if a Save Image option appears.)
The other change is that deleting any photo that is still in your photo stream warns that it will be removed from your photo stream, whether it's a "camera roll" photo or not. To keep the photo on your other devices, open it, tap the share icon and choose the Save Image if present prior to deleting it from any device.
All this is going to be somewhat academic when iCloud photo library is introduced anyway as users start accessing all their photo from iCloud and photo stream will be redundant and may even go away (other than perhaps shared streams).
