Middle Mouse Click Doesn't Scroll

I haven't installed anything lately, but all of a sudden my middle click mouse button (when I click it down) doesn't work. Before when I click it down, the little arrow thing would pop up and I would be able to scroll up and down if I move my mouse up and down. What is wrong? I didn't find anything in the System Preferences thing and I tried to install their software today, but to no avail. I can still scroll if I turn the wheel, but I want the middle click scroll to work again. So does anyone know how to fix this issue and restore the little up and down arrow thing? Thanks in advance. Note: Mouse is a Logitech Wheel Mouse M/N: M-BJ58

Have you tried the mouse on another comp, or if its possible another similiar mouse? Sounds like it could be the mouse itself, and not the OS or driver.

I tried a different mouse (same mouse just another one) and it doesn't work either.

maybe someone else out there who has the mouse can shed some light on if theirs is working.

id try repairing permissions, if you haven't, doubt it could be that, but it never hurts. other than that, I would wait doing anything like an archive/install or reverting firmware till someone else can verify that it wasn't just broken by an update.

I tried the repair thing, but it didnt work. How do you revert firmware and what is an install/archive?

Well the install/archive i was referring to was archive and install, which can be done with your installation disk. It essentially puts a new system on your computer but keeps all of your user information and files.
