I opened a new gmail account yesterday and successfully synched it up to my notebook, iphone, and ipad and tested numerous messages in all mediums.
today....on my notebook only...I am unable to connect to Gmail and get my account from the offline status to "Online"
Any ideas why this would be casuing me problems?

OK....figured it out
When I subscribed to Gmail I signed up for a 2-Step verification system.
My Gamil login was established only for the 1st level authentication, and hence I needed to update my 2nd level passowrd with the one-time verification code or password to access y account.
Each device you own is to have it's own authentcation (2nd level) code input into the passowrd.
I was utilizing my 1st level password

Sometimes there are issues with gmail connecting. Try going to gmail.com to make sure that your password is correct. Then go into the gmail mail settings on the macbook and put your password in again so that the system goes through the verification process again.

Thanks...unfortuately my login has not changed....I can go to Gmail on the web and login successfully
What I cannot do, is prompt my Mac email browser to prmpt me to change or reenter my Gmail password
Can you advise how to do this?

I figured it was a verification issue of sorts which is why I wanted you to try and force it again through your mac set up.
