I need to switch from ATI to NVIDIA. What are my options?

I have a 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xenon Mac Pro with the ATI Radeon HD 4870.

It supports double wide PCI Express with 16 lanes

I run two Apple cinema HD displays... an aluminum 30" (DVI) and an older acrylic 27" (DVI through mini adapter)

The 3D production software I need to use for work only works on an NVIDIA card.

What is the best NVIDIA card that will run in my machine?

Mac Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xenon Mac

At $800 and comparing it to GTX 570 and above for CUDA like this.... it is old and too bad the Q5000 isn't yet available but there are Mac versions.

There are benchmarks on MacRumors (and I thought Barefeats pitted GTX 680 and Quadro )
