Having purchased Skyfall from Amazon UK, I Tunes will not allow the digital version into my library because my account is in Australia ! Are we not free to choose where we buy our Blu rays ?

Hi. Yes I know that DVDs are region specific. However I am able to play region 2 DVDs on my Mac without any problem. I don' t believe this problem to be with my Mac its seems to be more the Apple and i tunes. I cannot download the film simply because my i tune account is in Australia and not the UK. I therefore do not understand why Apple act as though they own the Rights to this film when in fact Fox do. I have asked Fox Digital to explain as the packaging of the DVD clearly states "Play anywhere". I understand from other discussions that this problem does not exist if the digital copy is transfered to Windows Player. In the meantime I am waiting to hear from Fox...

There are no regional restrictions on our Digital Copy; however, Apple does have regional restrictions, related to the country where the iTunes account was opened, that may prevent you downloading your Digital Copy from their iTunes Store. In order to transfer Digital Copy in regions not supported with your current iTunes account you may download your Digital Copy to Windows Media Player or to a Windows Media compatible device. >>

It would be nice if somebody from Apple was to read this as their policy *****. The Digital DVD will download into a Windows Media player but not I tunes. Amazon UK must sell many DVDs to Australian and NZ clients all above board but obviously not to the liking of Apple !! This policy needs to be changed
