Q: I have a Wi-FI connection but it won't let me in. I have the password. I don't know how to get the iPad to ask me for it

I have access to a Wi-Fi at a home. It is password protected but when I try to log in it will not let me nor will it ask me for the password. I am confused?

iPad, iOS 6.1.2
