IPhone Won't Call One Number

Help - my IPhone won't call my Dad's phone number. It starts to call and then just ends the call. Happens every time and has been like that for two months. His number works fine from any other phone (our house phone, my husbands IPhone). I deleted the contact entirely from my phone and put in the number without any additional information and the same result. Still won't call. He is my emergency contact, so I am concerned that I can't call him from my cell phone at all. How do I fix this?

I actually have the exact same problem. It´s my wifes phone, I checked that there is no block on either side. I have an iPhone 4s IOS 7, she has an Android phone.

one minute we can call and text eachother, then it suddenly stopped. Call tries to go out, but ends right away with no message.

I tried to put the sims in an old phone, and there was no difference with her sim, but when I took my sim and changed phone it all worked again. As soon as I put the sim back in my iphone it stopped working... Grrr.

I reset network settings, I rebooted the phone, checked all blocks over and over again but still no luck.

I hope April is well and moved on, but just in case she did find that her Dad blocked her phone number and posted her solution on the first page. Thank you for contributing your solution, but to be honest cleaning call logs is not something that I have seen to help much. I would recommend you to check if your phone is getting overfilled and clean out old stuff to empty out some space.

Problem solved.

The xxxxxxx carrier had blocked my phone as stolen, just like I thought. They blamed the prosecutor in a fraud case, but I contacted him and he said that he did not have anything to do with it. After som complaining and persuation the carrier lifted the block. I cant belive the carrier could do something like that... And because they did, I will name them with web adress.

Thanks for trying to help.

Yes, manually, even with all his contact info deleted, still won't call. Even with the 1.

My carrier says there is no block.

Completely restored IPhone and before doing any back-up, tried to call and the number still doesn't work.

Going to get my Dad to call his carrier to see if he blocked me by accident. Since the phone doesn't even get to the point of ringing, it's hard to imagine the phone company can block it. Seems like it would need to try to connect first.

Any other ideas??

Much appreciated.

Actually I did - when my Dad got his new phone there was an option to block the caller that he somehow hit accidently. On his phone, it is an option really easy to hit from every contact. As soon as he turned it off, I was able to call him again. So, definitely check to make sure your phone and the other person's phone don't have a call blocking feature turned on, before doing everything else.

Oh, sorry, that first answere.

Yes, tried it manually,

I live in scandinavia, som no "1"

Yes, I cantacted my carrier (supplier of phone network, right?)

No, she did not block my phone number with the carrier. (I own both phones and they are with the same carrier.

I agree that everything points to the carrier. But I have asked them pre ios 7 about blocking calls, but they cannot do it. I asked today again and same answere.

Its a mystery. I have both phones right here, I have checked and rechecked everything. A week back

16:09 all ok, 16:10 no contact between phones possible anymore...

Just noticed that I cannot make any calls or mobile networking with the iphone. I have just not noticed before because I´m on WiFi all the time.

I guess this means that there is a IMEI block on the phone witch has happened before. The police unlocked it for me 4 months ago and it is registered on me with my carrier but someone apparently reported it stolen again.

Never buy a used phone... I got the reciets and everything, but that didnt stop that guy from trying to get insurence money for it too...

Well, again, thanks for the help. My bad in giving out faulty information.

I guess after all the problem was that neither the carrier nor the phones were faulty, iphone was simply blocked by apple.
