New iMac sitting alongside older (4 years old) iMac
How do I get my App store purchases - Aperture and so on to work on the new one. iTunes seems to be simple enough and no doubt the App store is as well but I cant work it out
iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
Open the Mac App Store on the new Mac, sign into your account (Store menu) and open the Purchases pane. Download all the apps that you have previously bought. They should have Download buttons.
Yes that's what I thought, but they all have "installed" which is greyed out.
I was able to drag some across from my older machine like Pages for instance and they work fine, but others like Aperture just refuse to work.
Puzzled
If you have a backup drive or the other Mac connected to the new Mac, the MAS is seeing the apps installed on them. Disconnect the new Mac from everything but the internet.
