Printer Help

I recently upgraded my IMac to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and now my previously working HP printer will not print wirelessly. It shows up as offline, which it is not. It has an ip address. If I hook it up with the printer cable it works fine, but I need it work wireless so that I can use it as a network printer...

Check with Software Update and HP website to make sure you have all of the updated drivers for Snow Leopard.

Repair permissions and restart your computer.

It shows up as offline, which it is not.

When you print, make sure your "wireless" printer is selected. System Preferences/Print & Fax/Print - Make sure the wireless printer is selected (highlighted) and is selected as your default printer. Two printers should show up, wireless & ethernet. On my computer, the wireless one has the #1 next two it so I can tell the difference. However, you can name your printers with any name you like. Lock the padlock. Repair permissions and restart your computer. If this does not work, you can delete the wireless printer from the side panel by clicking on the "-" sign and adding it again.

Check Apple's Knowledge Base for Snow Leopard & Lion Printer solutions and suggestions.

Installing the Gutenprint and Gimp-Print for Mac OS X (10.2 and later) drivers will likely do the trick when all others fail.

Ok here is the latest crap. I re installed the HP software and went through the setup. If I take the wep protection off of the router, and connect to the router wirelessly with my imac it prints. If I connect the Imac to the router with an Ethernet cable, and turn off the Imac's wireless, it no longer prints and says the printer is offline. This all happened after upgrading to snow leopard. I called apple, and they are frigging cluless, "Sir you need to call HP it is thier problem'....

I believe this to be a problem with Bonjour.
