i did some thing wrong that makes my mac just showing a black screen and amessage says you need to restart your mac .... etc and i wanted to talk to any one from apple and i couldnt get my mac serial number and i could do nothing i turned to some one who formatted the hard desk and i tried to talk to any one from apple but it seems no one care i spent 4 years to be able to buy this mac and i dont know what to do > i will never buy mac again please some one tell me what to do dvd is not working i press on options and nothing happen what showld i do ? through it ? some body tell me what to do or where to go

Did you turn off your MBP by holding the power key for 10 seconds or more? Did you restart it? If so, what are the results?

yes i did it many times and nothing happen and i tried coomand s and command v and command control rp and c to boot from dvd .. nothing worked

The seial number is etched on the bottom of the case at the back edge near the air vents. Once you get that you can call Apple for help.

Write that number down.

NOTE:

Just to make certain, you inserted the original installation disk and started the MBP holding down the C key? Did the Optical drive reject the disk or did it just spin? If the former, the lens in the drive may be dirty and needs to be cleaned. If the latter, you will have to take it to an Apple repair facility.

i did all of this and nothing happen many i took it to maintinance offices and they broke my macbook . i dont know what to do . where is it in egypt ? i think in cairo i live about 800 k m away from cairo

You have a corrupted operating system install and the only thing you can do is reinstall OS X.

Sorry for your trouble but your only options are to take it to Apple or do the reinstall yourself. There is nothing anyone on this forum can do for you in this case.

Unless you are using 10.7 or 10.8 as your OS, you will need an installation DVD and an appropriate DVD drive.
