My Macbook Pro randomly shut off with 40% battery and will not charge or turn on

I was using my macbook pro with 40% battery. Decided to plug it in to get a better charge. A couple minutes later my macbook pro randomly shut down. After holding down the power button to restart my computer it flashed a blue screen with an apple then shut down again. After I did this it will not charge and will not turn on . Is there anything I can do before I bring it to the apple store?
