Macbook Retina Flickering

Hi, i bought my macbook a few months back off craiglist and it was just working fine. Recently the screen been flickering. I'm thinking bringing it to apple to get it fix. I have a couple of question before bringing it to apple.

1) would apple know if my mac is a stolen or not? if it is stolen would they still repair it and give it to me or would they contact original owner?

2) would apple 1 yr warranty cover this if i'm bringing it in for a repair?
