MacBook crashes

Question

Hello,I have purchased my Mac Book Air back in May 2010 and never had a problem until in February 2013when my MacBook Air started to crash all of a sudden. There is always the same message as shown above "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button until it turns off, then press the Power button again.Here are the records when the MBA crashed- 24th Feb 2013- 3rd Mar 2013- 12th Mar 2013.I appreciate any help in this matter. Note that about 3 months ago I had the MBA tested by Apple in their Apple store in regard of hardware and no issues come up.Thanks alot.RegardsAlex

Looks like a kernel panic. Paste the kernel panic logs from the System Information window under Software &gt; Logs.

For some reason it looks like a firewall is causing the issue. Disable any third party firewall software. Or if you use the inbuilt one try disabling that and see if it&#x27;s any better.

The panic was caused by the Astrill VPN software. I suggest you back up all data, then remove the software according to the developer&#x27;s instructions. Reboot and see whether there&#x27;s an improvement.

Hi Linc Davis and Tlix,my MacBookAir just crashed again (16th March). Find report below. Astrill VPN software was switched off, i.e. Icon was still there on the dashboard but deactivated. Hi Linc Davis,I would like to share with you that it appears that the crash happens in connection when I start skype and Astrill VPN software is running in the background. Find latest report below on 17th March. It seems like something has to trigger the crash, e.g. start Skype. Hi Linc Davis,yes, you are right. Astrill was the root cause. Every time I started Skype and Astrill was running MacBook Air crashed. No problem now if I dont have these two software running at the same time. It seems like Skype or Astrill amended their software which caused this crash. In the past I had no problems when both were running.Thanks!
