How do I block calls on iphone?
No way to block calls on any cell phone. Contact your carrier to see if they offer call blocking. Some do, some don't. Thats the only way to block calls.
You cannot block calls yourself, the carrier has to do the block for you.
My workaround is this:
1) Create a silent ringtone.
2) Add the numbers you want to block to your contacts and assign the silent ringtone and no vibration.
When someone calls from that number, your phone will not ring or vibrate.
You do realize that the calls are not actually being blocked, correct? They still come to the phone, just being intercepted by the app, but are not actually blocked. You can do the same thing with a silent ringtone and a contact entry.
The point is that they can still be blocked by pressing one button and they go to one list for easy viewing.

No, I guess you still don't get it...if the call comes to your phone, and it does, guess what? It has not been blocked. Why? Because as stated, only a carrier can block calls.
wj is right on this, it doesn't matter whether you press one button or two or three, you, the user, cannot block calls. They still come through, and if you have call waiting you will get the interrupt signal if you are on a call. Only the cell provider has the power to actually block a call.
I block calls on samsung and blocked one of my own numbers when I called the blocked phone it didn't ring it just beeped twice and went dead who cares if it isn't true call blocking it works and when I looked on the samsung with call blocker it didn't show number https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flexaspect.android.everycallco ntrol&hl=en this one app read the reviews it is a cool app
ok we all agree that one can't block phone calls but one can get apps which act like the calls are blocked
same deal with android or windows phones
same thing with spam filters on computers and phones really
And that is all I wanted on iPhone now I have to walk around with this samsung s4 which is nice it ain't exactly small and it takes to much room up in my pocket with the case on it it's like having a laptop shoved in there lol
Why is it that after paying so much money for a mobile phone is not possible to choose to block those callers that annoy us everyday.
If a child is being bullied at school they should be able to block the bullies instantly with any phone, but not with an IPhone.
If on the next upgrade of os is still not possible to block pestering callers I will switch to android OS.
At least in the US you cannot block calls on any cell phone or anyother phone. Only the telephone company can block the phone call. Some phones come with the ability to have a specific number or identifier entered that results in local "blocking" that is in reality only using a null ringtone. There is not a true block of the call, it still is transmitted through the carrier's switch gear.
You and I may call it "blocking a call"
What I want is the option to disconnect, block, hung up, name it whatever you want - in your great USA- calls from people, telemarketers or whomever I do not want to, wish to, hope to, talk or be texted by.
Potato, potato
Give me the option of blocking calls without having to jailbreak my iphone.
Thank You
Since we are fellow users on here and not Apple employees, there really isn't anything we, personally, can do.
You can make your needs known to Apple and if enough do that, something just might happen:
