I just bought an iphone second hand (it is about 7 months old). I want to register it, how does one register a second hand iphone please?

Use iTunes on the Macbook ( download if yoiu don't already have it

Thank you Peter. I am really strugling. The problem is tha when i go into the istore i am asked to login under the name of the person who owned the phone before and don't know how to change the Mac ID to my own. When i go into itunes, which is already installed on my iphone, i get the message iphone cannot connect to itunes.
Forget iStore
Use iTunes ON YOUR Mac NOT on iPhone
restore as new and start as if a new iPhone

Hi again Peter, The problem i am encountering is that a person who was housesitting for me went into my computer and did something and now, when i tried to register my computer, I couldn't because the apple ID shows up always tied to his email address. Then, when i synchronized my iphone with my computer, his email address comes up and prevents me buying apps or registering the phone in my name. I don't know how to wipe out this information from my computer (a Macbook) or from my G4 iphone. Untill i can do this, i can't use my iphone correctly and, as this person is (i've since found out) a convicted criminal (he is a confidence trickster), I am very worried that he could even be hacking into my computer from a distance.
log out of the Apple id and log in with your's
and I would change any passwords ,just to be safe
Basically call up customer service
Provide them with your Name Last Name your mobile number and IMEI
They will check if its already registered if its been unregistered by the previous owner they will automatically register it for you in your name.
It's the way i registered it!!
