My iPhoto refuses to close after any sharing or editing. I get this message: Albums are currently being synchronized with your online services. Do you want to stop synchronizing before quitting? But there's no way to escape except the power button.

This did not solve my problem...sorry. I was trying to un-check the green "solved" reply. You can tell I'm new to Mac. We live in a rural area and our server is through a small local company called Reliance Connects. It's our only option. It has worked fine for over a year, but started to freeze on sychronizing just the last month or so...I can look at my photos just fine, and then close, but if I try to share or do any editing, it won't close. thank you for responding.

I left the program running and went to bed...it did not stop sychronizing by morning...I assume it shouldn't take that long? I can only stop it by using my power button on the back of the screen.

My problem has not been solved. Force Quit on the Apple menu won't stop the program. Only the power button on the back of my screen will stop it from sending the message about synchronizing. Thanks for trying to help me.

I went to iPhoto. looked at pictures, tehn closed it. NO problem. opened it back up and I'm trying to "share" and album on fb. It asked me to confirm the name of the new album, then it started to "uploading thumnails" on the upper left corner, as usual...I left for 20 minutes and came back, but the blue progress marker has not moved. Usually it would say something like : 3 minutes remaining...and the progress marker would move. I'm going now to check and see if the photos have indeed been transfered to facebook.

Ok. No photos transfered to facebook, no progress on the blue marker, and the program won't close. Won't let me log-off, or shot down the computer. continues to send the message that It's synchronizing...asking if I want to quit, or continue. Neither works. thanks for helping me. I will try turning off the internet connection, now.

This time, the "force quit" gave me an new box, asking to select iPhoto for "forced quit". I selected that, and the program did quit, so that's an improvement. But I still can't share photos without starting the cycle again!
