IPad 4, Activation Failed.

I bought a new IPad 4 and now unable to activate it. Its a 16GB, Wifi only. Its says "Please retry activation", I retried it 100th time but no use. I tried to connect it to Itunes. Itunes recognizes IPad as it shows IPAD on screen when I connect it. But after few seconds it says that Device not recognizable. Please help

Ok, thanks for the info - you've mentioned that the iPad is showing up in iTunes which may well be a good thing, as a starting point for you I'd suggest connecting iPad to your PC/Mac and running iTunes, select your iPad - link will be in the top-right corner if using latest version of iTunes or in the list on the left if you have Show Sidebar selected from the View Menu.


From there select the Summary tab if not already listed and click on the 'Restore' button and iTunes will download the software and may prompt you to Backup - under the circumstances I'd assume there is nothing there to backup so you can ignore that - if prompted to Restore once software is downloaded select this and try going through setup again.
