Q: Downloading Newer Versions

When upgrading to a newer version of itunes, it asks me "do you want to delete the software from your computer". This doesn't make sense. I am trying to download it onto my computer. Is this for the older version I currently have and will it wipe out my current library?

    That's okay. Prior to the install of the newer version of iTunes (or any newer versions of other software components in the iTunes installer bundle, like Bonjour or AMDS), the older version of the software is uninstalled. Under normal circumstances, that doesn't touch your content.

     

    (That being said, it's always a good idea to maintain a current backup in case of disasters of any sort.)
