you can use the function max(A, B) which takes two arguements, A and B. the function max returns the maximum of A and B. if you use it like:

= max(0, <some cell>), then if <some cell> is less than 0 max() will return 0 otherwise the value of the <some cell>

If you are a locality that uses the "," as a decimal then you should replace the "," in the formula I show with the proper argument seprator for your locality.

EDIT: It sounds like the answer is the MAX function. I wrote this stuff below then re-read the problem a few more times. Still not 100% sure.

If you need the value of the cell to be correct but when that value is <0 you want the cell to display a zero, you can do that with a custom format. To get you started, do this:

  1. Open the Inspector to the Cell (43) tab.
  2. Choose Custom for the cell format
  3. In the Format window that opens up, click on the "+". It will give you a line for "if less than zero"
  4. In that new line, delete what is there and type a 0.
  5. Save

You will probably want to edit the other line in the format also.
