10.8.3 update failed

App Store app downloaded the update fine, requested restart, after OK seemingly installed software. Requested restart again. Came up with a dialog box "Update failed, restart the system". After the system restart it lists as 10.8.2, but App Store app now crashes reliably can not retry install or see status. Anyone else with this?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

On my Mac MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011) installation of the combo update failed - after the failure message current system is shown as 10.8 3!!!


No problems with app store. Re-downloading the combo update from OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.3 (Combo)and trying the installation routine again did result in the same error message saying that installation had failed.


It was recommended to contact the maker of the software...
