Confusion: can iPhone connect successfully to multiple computers?

The Summary at the top of this page says: You can manage your iPhone, with multiple computers as long as you set it to "Manually manage music." but the Notes at the bottom says "iPhone is intended for use only with a single computer." Which is correct?

iPad (4th gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 6.1.2

You can only sync music and media files like videos and photos to one computer. You can use your device like a regular USB flash drive on multiple computers.
