MacBook Pro 13'' (mid 2010) Windows 8 support

Hi guys, can someone explain why this MBP model lacks Windows 8 compability?

I waited good amount of time for the W8 drivers to be released, and now I found the table of supported macs by windows 8 here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634 (So that means 10.8.3 with new 5.0.2 bootcamp does nothing for me in terms of W8 compability?)

If someone gets windows 8 working on this MBP, please post your result here. Thanks a lot!

Yeah I had the same problem. I'm using windows to play Steam games so I downloaded chrome to get steam faster and I can play my games without problems but when I go on the Internet or have a slow connection (like at a public library or coffee shop) my computer will crash. Hopefully Apple will help us 13in 2010 MBP users out sometime in the future but I highly doubt it :(

My experience :

I installed win 8 on my MBP 13" mid2010.also Installed BootCamp5.0.5033 drivers by command prompt. i Manually installed Nvidia driver Whql-314.07( Latest Driver for Gforce XXXm)

But 😠 Crash,,,,Crash,,,Crash,

i had video call with my Skype, suddenly Crash !

Listen Music,suddenly Crash!

i prefer to Downgrade to Win7. unfortunately ,apple leave MBP 13" mid 2010 users without Bootcamp Supporting.I am afraid that one day it does not support Mac OS X 10.9 on my MacBook Pro. I live in Iran, unfortunately i can't pay another high price to buy New MBP.

Sometimes looks like Apple spit on consumers. I had been waiting these drivers for a long time and don't know what to do now. This model was so popular that's why Apple stopped supporting anymore. They want more money, I don't want to dance with tambourine near my mac, i just want a working solution with Windows 8 by Apple.

So to fix the crash use this:

1. Run CMD as ADMINISTRATOR:

2. Type: bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes

3. Restart ;-)

BUT... i have one another problem... I was used BootCamp 4 and it was same as now... When i install BootCamp 5 nothings change... I still have the problem with the display brightness... Its turned to max brightness. I can use the Fn button and F1 to make the brightness low.... its indicate that its low... but nothings change...
Someone have that problem too? Any solutions ?

Well, I first had Windows 7 installed with Bootcamp. Then in the same partition I installed Windows 8 x64 with an upgrade ISO, but chose the option to keep nothing and without using Bootcamp for Mac. The only thing that Bootcamp for Mac helped me to do was to obtain the support Software Bootcamp 4 for Windows. Then I installed it and got the most of the drivers working. Finally I installed the support Software Bootcamp 5 which I obtained from the Bootcamp support webpage, I tested the screen brightness, which didn't work, so I rolled back the NVIDIA video card driver and it worked. There are just two devices which still Windows mark as if they have no driver installed, but if you try to install them manually, they are within the Bootcamp 4 support software folders. Hope this helps.

Well, first, I have the Mid 2010 MacBook Pro 13", so I don't know if this solution works for you. In fact your version of MacBook should be compatible with Windows 8. Anyway, you can download the drivers as the Windows Support Software from Boot Camp 5 in OS X. This method guarantees that you get the right drivers for your model. Then you install the file you downloaded from Boot Camp in Windows OS and your drivers should work regardless if they are for Win 7 and you have Win 7 or 8.
