Do you have the Ring/Silent switch set to silent?

Check also what you have set in Settings > Sounds for Ringer and Alerts

@Alis500 I have been having the same issue. It started in January I believe. My phone will vibrate for everything but it will not ring when I receive a call, chime when I receive a text, or alert me to incoming or outgoing emails. I think it has something to do with the 6.1 update.

Ran into this with my new iphone 5C I found that if you enable "VIbrate on Ring" and "Vibrate on Silent" this seems to cancel out the ringtone and ALL MY ALERTS.  Crazy huh?

I checked all my settings and everything seemed to be good in good volume ??  Even the "Do Not Disturb" option was off so WTH?

I messed around with the phone and this made everything ring, ding and buzz all over again.

    -Settings

    -Sounds

    -Turned off -VIbrate on Ring

    -Turned off-VIbrate on Silent

    Voila. The ringer works

    Hope this helps! Good luck!
