Discrete graphics question

I'd like to know if there is a way to check when my MBP switches to discrete graphics. I'm assuming it's enabled by default when playing demanding games but I was wondering if it should switch when using pro apps such as CS6 programs as well.

Thank you

Download the app "gfxCardStatus".

Yes, Photoshop, etc. will switch from onboard graphics to discrete.
