Install FCP7 after FCPX

I replaced my MacBook Pro with a new HD and redownloading FCPX, Motion 5 and Compressor. Since I still have some FCP7 projects to convert using 7toX, I installed FCS3 (only FCP and Soundtrack). After finished installing the dialog said it was succed, but I couldn't find FCP(7) in application folder nor utility folder (Soundtrack is in application folder). My MacBook Pro is mid 2011 i7 2.2GHz 17" 16GB RAM 10.8.2. Should I delete first FCPX, install FCP7 then redownload the FCPX? Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you sure that FCP has not been put in a separate folder inside the Applications folder?

If you can't find it, use FCS Remover http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcsremover/

to remove all traces of just FCS. (Don't trash FCP X).

Then create a new folder called Final Cut Pro X and put FCP X, Compressor and Motion inside it.

Then reinstall FCS normally.

The order doesn't matter as long as you ensure you are not trying to put 2 apps named Final Cut Pro in the same folder (Applications).

The same goes for Motion and Compressor, that's why you put them all in the newly created Final Cut Pro X folder I mentioned.

You can give that folder any name but the AppStore and Software Update will only see it if it has that name.

"Send To" commands in legacy Final Cut Studio looks for the companion apps at the root level of the Applications folder. If you need that, move the new FCP X version apps into a "Final Cut Pro" sub-folder, them move the legacy apps back to the root level of the Applications folder.

Still, I'd leave the legacy apps behind and work in the current versions exclusively.
