Q: Airprinting Problems

I have purchased a Canon Pimxa MX895 for the purpose of printing from my Ipad 2 and 3. After completing setup procedures according to the instructions I was successful in connecting my printer to the wireless network. My ipads cannot find the airprinter. What is now required ???

I have referred to the manuals, with little success.

Do I need to hard wire the printer to the router via ethernet cable to activiate this function ??

Please advise. Rob

I don't have a Canon, but I have an HP. I didn't hard wire it to anything and you probably don't have to either. That would defeat the purpose of using a wireless printer - unless it is required for initial set up and that should have been stated in the manual.

There may be a firmware update for the printer that you need to download so you could check Canon's support site for that.

You can try something real simple as well. Turn the printer off for about 30 seconds and then turn it back on.

After sharing my success,I went to print next document and found that the iPad no longer recognised Canon printer as an airprinter.

Turned everything off and tried again with no success. Realised I became too excited too quickly.

    Thoughts. Thanks Rob

Did you try rebooting the iPad?

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

You can also try rebooting your router. Unplug it for about 30 seconds and plug it in again.

Try by enabling flightmodus and disabling it again and in case you have not only wlan, disabe and enable f.i 3G.
