Recently I changed my monitor to Dell U2412M, but the port it owns disappointed me, there is no HDMI port available.
Later I found a adapter online, it's a DP to HDMI adapter. My question is if I connect this adapter to the monitor, and then use HDMI cable to connect both sides, the result will be the same as just connect HDMI directly? All video and audio content will be transferred successfully?

The video should be fine, less sure about the audio transfer over a DisplayPort-to-HDMI converter.
Also the U2412M does not have built-in speakers, and adding a Dell sound bar to it probably won't help either since there's no headphone/speaker jack on the Apple TV to feed the audio to the sound bar.
(I use iTunes on my MacBook Pro to watch videos on my U2412M, but I have to rely on the computer's built-in speakers or external speakers fed by the computer's headphone jack to hear the audio.)
I'm watching the same Dell monitor ( UltraSharp)patched to my 3rd gen Apple tv and a vizio sound bar. I used a optical/analog adapter between the apple tv and sound bar. I bought the Dell early 2014.
Is it possible to connect Apple TV to Dell U2412M
