syncing contacts?

this whole section doesn't tell me how to snyc my contacts... it just says I can through i tunes... the problem is there is no explanation as to how... my menu bar doesn't look anything like the example and I am synced through a usb cable. There used to be, back in the day, a button called sync... it was fabulous. Bring back the button!
