Macbook cannot open .caf file. I've also tried some programs I found online to convert the file but without any success. These were transfered files from my iPhone app QuickVoice. Is there another way to open these files or conver them?

I'm stuck too. Really need to convert these .caf files and can't find a way of doing it. Crazy. Any luck?
What type of media are the files?

Hi. They were created by the Quick Voice memo app on an iPad 2. They were then transferred to my mac using an app that they provide to export the recordings to the Mac. I lost the iPad 2 and even though I have a new iPad, it could not pick up the back up file for the iPad2. They are audio recordings. Quick Voice does not seem to have a way to add .caf files to it via iTunes. That would enable me to at least play them on the iPad.

Have you tried ctrl-click the file and select Encode selected Audio file from the pop up menu?
Thanks kind folks. I have tried programs like Bigasoft, the garageband/imovie trick, others. darn it. nothing works. i wonder if there's a way to trick the ipad into bringing in that file back into quickvoice, even though quickvoice for some strange reason does not allow files to be added to it via iTunes. I have tried it through dropbox but it does not get sent to quickvoice.
