I have on a external disk a backup, and I want to put all backup to my new snow leopard installation. Is there any way to do it fast?

I need to transfer from my external hard drive memory all files, app, etc. to my mini mac snow leopard.

I manage to do it, but at the end I have to do it manually. I am trying to recover my journal file, with 5 years and I can find it.

Can somebody tell me where is located this files?
