Mar 16, 2013 6:49 AM in response to WFJ5444by Ernie Stamper,Have you scrolled all the way to the bottom of the Sidebar display in the Library tab? I have never seen this happen except when there are other projects with the same base name.

Mar 16, 2013 6:55 AM in response to WFJ5444by Kirby Krieger,Search the Library using the Library Inspector search field for "Christmas 2012". Collapse the Project list, and then expand it while pressing "Option" (this forces it to expand all). Are there any other "Christmas 2012"s there? Are there any in the Aperture Trash?
If not, you should delete your user prefs as detailed on this Apple Support page. Post back with your findings.

Mar 16, 2013 11:10 AM in response to Kirby Kriegerby WFJ5444,I have expanded all, searched, and there are some extra Christmas albums from previous years, like
Christmas 2005 and Christmas 2005 (1)
I tested it by importing 1 picture with the name Test. Didn't do it. I deleted that Event, and tried another one called Test. Still no number.
Just did another set of pictures (28 in all) with a longer name, and it created it with a 2 after it. Of course no events named that either.
I just did another test and I have auto split turned on of course it made about 5 different events, which makes sense across many days of shots.
I turned off Autosplit and kept the same name (and deleted the old Test) and still no number.
I next tried adding some pictures (49) to Chirstmas 2013 which I know doesn't exsist. Again no number. /floored
So I am at a loss.
