BootCamp64.msi file is missing in the build of BootCamp 5.0.5033

I tried to download the latest bootcamp 5.0.5003 both from Mac 10.8.3 boot camp assitant and manual way. But still cannot find the file bootcamp64.msi which made the installation interrupted under Windows 8 64-bit OS. Does anyone who can provide solution or upload that missing file for me?

Thank you.

I just read you did this the EFI way, is it all possible that since you didn't use BootCamp Assistant in OSX that there is something BCA adds when it partitions and what not that the BootCamp 5.0.5033 package is looking for? Just a thought.

Also did you try downloading and installing the previous bootcamp pack from apple, and install/reinstall it? Then try to update it again?

this is not a problem with the BootCamp 5.0.5033 update - this has to with uninstalling the previous version which apparently was based on bootcamp64.msi. And since this isn't available anymore: no uninstall.

Try to force the uninstall of the previous version with some utility - I managed to get rid of it with tuneup. After that BootCamp 5.0.5033 installed without any problem.

i would download that 4.0.4033 and use setup.exe in windows 8 and let it reinstall/repair. THEN use the new 5.0.5033, go to drivers/apple and right click the bootcamp.msi and run as administrator. if it you dont have the option to run as admin, click my name, find my recent win8 tut, and add the registry file to win8 that allows you to do so. hope this finally solves this for you my friend. if its the bootcamp64.msi that you want only, you'll definitely get it that download, because i have it

After working with Apple support, I was able to resolve this. Here was their solution.

1) Go into the Windows Control Panel, bring up Programs and Features, go to Boot Camp Services and scroll all the way to the right and find out what version you are running (I was 4.0.4326).

2) http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp and click on Downloads and re-download the version you are running, and UNZIP it.

3) Now go back to Control Panel and remove Boot Camp Services. You will need to point to the 4.x BootCamp folder for any files you are missing (I was only missing 1 file, bootcamp64.msi).

4) Reboot

5) Install BootCamp 5.0.5033.

6) Reboot

It worked like a champ for me.
