So far I only know how to create my own drum pattern by using musical typing, but my timing isn't great. Does anybody know how to create your own loop like how people would in fruity loops?
I'm a complete noob here, just need some heklp. Thanks!

I don't know fruity loops, but there's several ways to record midi data in GB:
- As you did, with musical typing. Don't worry if your timing is bad, you can quantize the notes afterwards with the quantization slider so they sit exactly on the beats.
- With an external midi controller, e.g. a keyboard, if you have one.
- You can just draw the notes into the region, which is the easiest way to create simple drum patterns. Pressing the cmd key turns the cursor into a pencil.

I'm trying to draw notes into the region but pressing cmd doesn't turn the cursor into a pencil. Is there something I'm missing?
Are you working in the Editor window that opens up after you double-click a region?
You want to pencil in the notes correct? If so try this.
1. Create an new empty Midi Software Instrument Track
2. Command Click in the Track Lane to reveal a Pencil tool
3. This will create a Region that you can drag out to any Bar length
4. With Region selected open the Midi Editor window and Command Click inside Grid to Reveal a Pencil tool
5. Now Pencil in the Notes, Drum Beats etc.
6. Quantize Drum Beats (Try 16th Notes to start)
Actually I got it to work now. I had the editor window open before but it didn't work until I had a pattern already in there to edit.
