Hi there,
Here are the instructions for tethering your iPad to your iPhone:
What You Need For Tethering An iPhone and iPad
- An iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, or higher
- An iPad
- A wireless data plan with tethering enabled
How To Use Tethering With iPad and iPhone
- Begin by ensuring that tethering has been enabled on your mobile phone plan.
- Next, you'll need to turn on the Personal Hotspot feature on your iPhone. Personal Hotspot is the name Apple has given its tethering feature.
- Once you've enabled Personal Hotspot, make sure to turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
- On the Personal Hotspot page on the iPhone, make note of the Wi-Fi password for the network.
- On the iPad, turn Wi-Fi on if it's not on already.
- Look for the network created by the iPhone.
- Connect to it as you would a normal Wi-Fi network.
- Enter the network password from the Personal Hotspot screen on the iPhone.
With this done, the iPad will be able to access the Internet via the iPhone for as long as the Personal Hotspot on the phone is turned on and as long as the iPad is in range of the iPhone.
You can disconnect the iPad from the network that same way you would any other Wi-Fi network. When you're done with the tethering of the devices, you'll likely want to shut off Personal Hotspot to conserve battery life until you need it next.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
GB
