Hey everyone!

I just received an iMac 27 inch model built to order with the following upgrades:

 

3.4 GHz Intel Core i7

32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM (inserted myself from third party supplier)

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB

3 TB Fusion Drive

 

I noticed a week ago that there were some strange bluish squares on the display that appeared to look like a safari page I visited. It looked sort of like a watermark and could only be noticable when the computer was in a dark, low lit room and the display had dark colored webpages or pictures opened. Being someone who works consistently throughout the day making graphics in Adobe CS6 (a dark colored interface), this watermark problem has become very noticable and distracting. Here are some pictures taken with the iPhone 5. My wallpaper is darker colored so the watermarks are more easily visible.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Could this be related to the backlight bulbs in the display? Please let me know if you have any idea. Thanks!

    Hi, I have the same issue and I notice that if you close safari o chrome or whatever for a while and only work in a darker interface program (autocad, adobe cs6, etc.), the watermarks will disapear until you expose again the display to a brigther interface like the internet browsers have, but this isn't a solution. Please someone let us know if is a configuration problem or simple must replace the display. Thanks!

    There have been posts here about image persistence in the new 27 inch screen models.

    If both of you have had these Macs less than 14 days, return them for a full refund and re-order. This should not be happening on a brand-new iMac.

    Do not ask for a replacement as you only get one or two replacements for more serious issues if you have AppleCare and the issues aren't repairable over a period of time.

    Wipe the drive clean and reformat and reinstall the OS.

    Just return and re-order.
