I have icons on desktop that do not respond, as well as Launch bar icons that do not respond as well, they look like phantom icons which just sit there
please help 😟
iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.5), some desktop icons will not respond
Do their equivalent icons in the Applications folder operate as they should?
Have you tried to right click on the phantom ones to see what options you are offered?
Do they have a small arrow protruding from the bottom?
The equivalant icons act as they should. There are double icons for everything on my desktop, one works as it should and one does not respond. The same goes for the launch bar at bottom of screen.
nothiing happens when I right click.
No arrows that I can see.

How long have they been there, Beverly.
Try disconnecting your peripherals (first) then disconnecting your computer for a few minutes. Then reverse reconnect and start up again.
