Upgrade mid 2007 IMac core 2 duo to a quad or extreme???

hello i have a 2007 Imac with a core 2 duo in thats pushing 2.4ghz with 2 gigs of ram. The imac is running Mountin lion currently and is acting a bit slow. i want to upgarde the processer since i want to be able to use it for the next two years or so before haveing to get a new one. When it ran Snow leopord it was still fast but not quite speeds i wanted. i also saw some other posts about people upgradeing to the 2008 and 2009 core 2 duos is that an option.

The processor is soldered onto the logic board, so you can't upgrade the processor on an iMac after buying it. You have to keep your Core 2 Duo

That's not possible on Macs, because they need specific logic boards compatible with the iMac model you have that they aren't available. On a PC it's possible to do it, but not on Macs

No CPU in iMacs can be upgraded.

Only known upgrades are the possible upgrading of the Graphics chips in the 2009-mid 2012, 27 inch screen iMac models. And these can only be upgraded with higher graphics chips that were available for any given year model.

Your iMac model can take up to 6 GBs of RAM.

You can order (1) 4 GB RAM module to max. out your RAM.

Purchase correct and reliable Mac RAM from online Mac RAM sellers Crucial memory or OWC (macsales).

when i just looked over the specs again it said it max was 4 gigs 2gigs in each slot

Hi Papaginos, thank you for your tip! The 4GB is about 115.00$ Would that make a significant, practical improvement on my iMac 2007 2,4GZ dual core? Thank you!

disculpe pero eso es falso, el procesador no esta soldado, recuerede que su tarjeta madre es de intel, y actua igual que un pc windows, asi que solo les queda probar con otros procesadores lga775
