weird characters sometimes appears on Japanese website

Hello there,


I have a macbook pro. When I go on some Japanese websites, there're full of weird characters sometimes appears. It doesn't happen everytime. How can I fix it? I appreciate your time in advance.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Please provide an example of a url where that happens so someone can see what you are talking about.


Normally this indicates an encoding mismatch. The fix would be to use View > Text Encoding to switch to UTF-8 or one of the various Japanese encodings until you fine the right one.


When a website causes this problem, it usually means that the people who created it were incompetant.
