My M<acbook Pro (bought July 2012) was working seemingly happily with my HP Photosmart Premium Printer until recently when it has decided that it can no longer detect it.  I have tried all the hints I can find on the net and then finally deleted the printer within Print Preferences.  Now it cannot detect it to load it back on.

Any thoughts?

What is the model number of the printer?

How was the printer connected to the Mac?

What version of OS X are you using?

I am a printer tech for HP.

Since updating to os x mavericks 10.9.2 my macbook pro will no longer detect my hp photosmart c7250 all-in-one printer.  I have tried everything i can think of to rectify this problem.  From the comments on this board it seems there are many others with similar issues.  Does anyone know when apple will be adding a fix for this problem?

    Thanks-

Probably never.   HP needs to update their drivers to support wireless under any upgrade.

If the printer is under the link here:

    10.6 and later

Then the drivers here will be the most up to date:

    HP

Otherwise the drivers will have to come from HP directly.  Some open soure drivers may be more supportive*:
