What is the best way to share family reunion information?

I told some of my relatives that I'd try to set up some kind of web page for sharing family reunion photos, videos, stories, etc., that just family members could access. I wasn't wanting to go the whole pay for domain, pay for monthly access, etc. route if there might be other options we haven't considered. Does anyone out there have any suggestions, or feedback on what is good vs. what is a rip-off? We really are just looking for a good way for us to stay connected, as we're spread out, all over the country and we want to keep the family together "virtually" at least, since it's getting harder and harder to get together in person.
