What is the best way to config the firewall in os x 10.8.3?

I have currently set:

Automatically allow signed software to receive incoming connections.

Enable stealth mode.

Is this the best setup?

Having been previously hacked: 2 Dells and so decided to switch to mac, and then my new dual core mac mini was hacked, and I have traded up to the quad core mini. I want to take every precaution on my firewall, antivirus, and WiFi security setup to prevent this from happening again. I have switched to

another ISP; Never in my wildest nightmares did I think it possible to hack a mac, but it happened to me. The IT specialist at my

previous ISP told me that the only way someone could have hacked my mac was if they had my IP address & passwords, or they

worked there. Who ever it was hacked through a dual firewall router (wpa2 personal), and mac firewall. No, I don't visit **** sites, Irc chat

sites, or any social networks. Also delete all spam, suspicious emails, and have email filter set to junk any email without my full name in

address. I am new to mac as of 12/14/2012, traded mini's 3weeks ago. I love my mac and would never go back to pcs.

Any advice would be sincerely appreciated.

Mac mini, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

Hi Curt,

You also want to be careful with Java & Flash...

And if using Safari...

Turning off "open [un]safe files automatically" in Safari is another big step in the right direction, if you use Safari. It would also be nice if Apple offered a convenient way to disable/modify URI handlers -- they're just asking for trouble.
