My ipod Classic won't turn on or accept a charge

about 6 months ago i dropped my ipod classic (6th generation) and half of the screen went black. It was inconvenient, but the ipod itself worked fine. I continued to use it normally. About a week ago, I walked into my room and heard a loud buzzing sound. It was coming from my ipod. I walked over to it, and the screen was totally black. I tried to turn it off. Nothing. I could get no response. I put it on my iHome, and the buzzing stopped. Ever since then, the ipod hasn't worked. I've tried resetting it, Ive tried plugging it into the computer, I've tried many different chargers. The ipod is unresponsive, doesn't turn on, and nothing will recognize it.
