I have version 11.01 of iTunes and cannot find the airplay button.
I want to send my music and photos to my Apple TV
In iTunes 11, the AirPlay icon is in a different place. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12151

I saw that on the website but do not have the button near the volume control like it shows on the diagram.
is it in the toolbar somewhere?
It's not automatic. You have to set up iTunes Sharing in iTunes Preferences>Sharing>Share my library.
Then in your AppleTV go to Settings>Computers>Turn on HOme Sharing.
