IPhone 4S overheating after upgrade to 6.1.2, Reloaded software, springboard crashes

My IPhone 4S is overheating and the battery is going down. Went to the apple store and they identified a springboard crash, Reloaded the phone and the same happens, Started to remove applications that were always on the phone but the same happens. Seems like this is new to the 6.1.2 software upgrade. Any ideas.

Restore the phone as New; do not restore the backup. It sounds like data corruption that was saved to the backup.

To answer your question about where the problem lies, its some app that is stuck in a loop sending data and failing. It could be a built in app, like Mail. To check Mail go into Settings and turn off all of the account features (contacts, calendar, mail, etc). Reboot the phone, then turn them back on if the problem goes away with them off. Just interrupting the app for a while will usually fix it.
