Iphone 4s completely silent.
After updating my iPhone 4s, it is completely silent. I can't hear music or anything else via the phone's speakers.
I have restarted it in a number of ways and still nothing.
What do I do?
iPhone 4S, iOS 6

can you go to settings>sounds and toggle to volume and hear anything? also the silent switch on the side is it off? If so attempt to restore the device if issues still persit may need repair.
Go to Settings > Sounds and see that the volume bar is not at the left end.
Settings > Music > Volume Limit > OFF and then there is a volume level shown on the volume bar.
The silent switch is off.
The Volume Limit is all the way to the right.
When I select different ringtones, it plays them.
When I raise the volume from the right side of the phone, An image of the speaker appears 'Ringer' and there is no volume bar at all. That includes the music player as well.
Then i would backup and restore the device, if issues still persist after restore your iPhone needs repair.
Reboot the iPhone by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if it appears.
I've done that. The problem continoues.
Btw, before the iPhone 5 came out with the new OS, I had the same problem. The last update before the new OS coming out fixed the problem. Then I updated to OS 6 and the problem occured again...
It comes and goes with each OS update. It's weird.
Might be worth a visit to the Apple store genius bar, where the techs can check it out and reinstall the iOS, your copy may be corrupted in some way. If you can backup to iCloud, they can also restore any content and make sure that is clean also.
