Q: sound track for film

I need to compile segments from 21 digitized audio cassettes. Mostly voice, no music. sound track for film. What is the best software?

Mac mini (Mid 2010), iOS 6.1.2, Garage Band may not make it.

Do you have SoundtrackPro? If so, use that.

Have only (so far) stock apple consumer software (eg garageband, imovie, etc. You must recommend soundtrackpro over all other?

Are you doing the sound design for the film or just gathering raw material to give to someone else who will edit the project?

If the former, you might want to look into ProTools or Logic.

If the latter, Garageband (or Quicktime Pro 7) should be able to edit simple clips.
