Could be a speck of dust or a large group of bad pixels. Is it visible when the backlight of the screen is off? If no, it very well could be a defect of the screen. If it bothers you, return the laptop if you're within 14 days of purchase and get it replaced with a new one. Otherwise, get it covered under warranty and get them to replace the screen on it. Take your pick.
