wi-fi: my internet connection frequently goes off. I have to turn wi-fi off and then on again to regain it. Any solution?

Sometimes creating a new location can help (it did for me) as noted under 'Making new locations' in this support doucment:

Another soloution that has worked for some is to change the channel under wifi on the router.
