HT3526 quicktime problem

I was able to view steamed videos using under wmv, but all of a sudden I can not see my videos. Not sure why. I have down loaded quicktime 7 & it says: the document “...wmv” could not be opened.The movie is not in a format that quicktime can undrstand" I have tried to download flip4mac and I still can not see them. What can be the problem.
